Versatile Drop Cookies Recipe By : Rosie Bunda Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1 cup shortening -- or butter 1 1/2 cups sugar 2 eggs 4 cups flour 1/4 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon cream of tartar 1 teaspoon baking soda 1 cup milk 1 teaspoon vanilla Blend shortening, sugar and eggs. Stir in combined dry ingredients alternately with milk and vanilla. Add 1 cup chopped nuts, chopped dates or seedless raisins or add 1 6-ounce package of semi-sweet chocolate pieces. Drop batter from teaspoon onto baking sheet rubbed with shortening and bake at 375 F for 10 to 12 minutes.
