Sausage (or Bacon) Gravy 1/4 cup sausage drippings -- * see note 1/4 cup flour 2 cups milk 1/2 teaspoon salt -- or to taste 1/4 teaspoon pepper -- or to taste To the sausage drippings in the skillet, add the flour. Cook and stir over medium heat 5 to 10 minutes or until mixture starts to turn golden. Slowly add milk, stirring constantly. Add salt and pepper. Cook gravy until it boils and thickens. Sausage pieces may be add to gravy. Serve over warm biscuits. NOTES : *Sausage drippings are what is left in the pan after frying the sausage. Bacon grease may be used if you are frying bacon instead.
